I’ve known this single would be the end for a while now. I wrote it just over seven years ago, not long after my second album came out, and it has existed as a guide track for most of that time. Just before we locked down in March 2020, I rallied The Small Bear Records Wrecking Crew™ for a session with Captain Reynolds to nail my goodbye to the ceiling. Little did any of us know what was coming and how much it would affect all of our lives.
Without a hint of apology for its late arrival on (trust me, its not even slightly sorry) here is the song that I’ve been waiting to share with you. It’s the song that starts playing as the first table is thrown into the Juke Box in a bar fight. It’s the way I wanted to go out – hurling myself onto the back of a motorbike wearing a muddy wedding dress and a leather jacket with a bottle of whiskey in my hand.
There’s a lovely big FUCK in the second verse and we haven’t produced a radio edit so I’m not expecting any airplay and I won’t be doing any press.
This is my swan song and it’s just for us. Thank you, a million times thank YOU! You were brilliant.
Love, peace and pie! Clara ❤ xxx
